I use to read a lot. Settling back and getting into a good book was my “me time”. And then I had a kid. And now, well I still read, but my reading now is more for my daughter’s pleasure than my own. My preferred authors these days are Dr. Seuss and Robert Munch. But recently I delved into a more grown up series of books and I have to tell you it was a nice break to read a book that didn’t rhyme.
After I read the first book The Mark of The Hummingbird by Canadian author Jessica Gollub I couldn’t wait for the next one. It’s been a long time since I got pulled into a book but this dystopian look at the not so distant future had me hooked. The next installment in the series, The Song of the Sisters was equally as nail biting and had some delightful twist and turns that kept me reading until way past my bed time. All good things must come to an end and they do in The Rise of the Forgotten. Like any good series the end of this final installment will leave you with that strange mix of satisfaction and longing for more. It’s always hard to say goodbye isn’t it?
To mark the release of the third and final book in the Hummingbird series Jessica has decided to celebrate by throwing a party. A twitter party that is. And you are all invited! Here are the details:
