I can’t believe it’s April already and that Easter is right around the corner! I’m so looking forward to getting out in the garden and for all things spring really. And this week we got our first real taste of spring with a cool package from Kellogg’s Canada that included the special Spring edition of Rice Krispies and Rice Krispie treats. I love that the colorful little Rice Krispie treats fit perfectly in a standard plastic Easter egg. It makes them perfect for an egg hunt! And the Spring Rice Krispies make for come tasty and colourful treats (or just a coloruful bowl of cereal).
We decided to make some adorable little Easter Nests to fill with mini eggs.
They are so easy to make! Just follow the usual directions for making Rice Krispie treats. Then while they are still soft shape them into little nests. We free handed them but you can also use muffins tins if you want them a little more uniform.
Allow them to cool completely and then fill them with mini chocolate eggs, jelly beans, mini marshmallows or any other favorite treat!
How cute are those? And these aren’t the only treat you can make with Rice Krispies. You can form them into egg shapes or let them cool in a pan and use your favorite spring themed cookie cutters to make fun shapes! If you can imagine it you can do it!
